I keep posting about salah… because it’s no funny business.

Why we’re weak now is because we lack reminders. We didn’t see what Rasulullah (SAW) saw in the Hereafter… If we were exposed of what lies in store for us if we do not repent and constantly sin, we all would automatically become good Muslims. But no, this dunya is a test of our faith… Our love for Allah SWT. Ya Allah, please guide us to the straight path. Ih dinas sirotol mustaqim. [1:6]

Manusia tidak duduk dengan kita 24 jam.

Jika dia melihat kala kita marah, tanpa pernah bersama kita kala kita bersabar, maka pemarahlah kita di matanya.

Jika dia melihat kita kala kita berhujah lantang, tanpa pernah sempat bersama kita kala kita menerima pendapat, maka keras kepala-lah kita di matanya.

Namun Allah,
Dia tidak tidur, tidak mengantuk. Dia bersama kita setiap masa. Sepanjang waktu. Di mana kita berada. Kala kita naik atau jatuh.

Allah Maha Tahu siapakah kita.

Maka tidak mengapa jika manusia membenci dan melabel kita. Kadangkala bersuara menjelaskan keadaan sebenar hanya tambah menyakitkan kita. Kerana mereka manusia, macam kita juga.

Tetapi jujurlah dengan Allah, di hadapan dan di belakang manusia, dari situlah kekuatan daripadaNya akan hadir, buat hamba lemah seperti kita.

Sabda Rasulullah SAW yang bermaksud: “Dan janganlah kamu banyak ketawa kerana banyak ketawa itu mematikan hati”. (Riwayat Ahmad dan At-Tirmizi).

Ibnu Mas’ud meriwayatkan dari Auf bin Abdullah bahawa biasanya Rasulullah SAW. tidak tertawa melainkan senyum simpul.

Rasulullah tidak pernah ketawa berdekah-dekah, hanya tersenyum sahaja samada senyum kecil atau senyum lebar. “Tawa Rasulullah SAW, hanyalah senyuman.” (Riwayat Tirmidzi).

Sesungguhnya Rasulullah SAW apabila ketawa baginda hanya menampakkan barisan gigi hadapannya sahaja, bukan ketawa yang berdekah-dekah, mengilai-ngilai atau terkekeh-kekeh.

Dalam sebuah hadith Rasulullah SAW menyebut “Aku hairan orang yang tertawa dengan mulut yang terbuka penuh sementara ia tidak tahu apakah Tuhan menyukai perbuatannya itu atau tidak.”

Daripada Abu Hurairah r.a., Nabi SAW bersabda: “Sekiranya kamu mengetahui apa yang aku ketahui nescaya kamu kurang ketawa dan banyak menangis.” (Riwayat al-Bukhari).

Rasulullah SAW mengetahui kerana Baginda telah melihat dengan matanya sendiri keadaan Syurga dan Neraka semasa Mikraj.

“There’s nothing more sufficient than when someone disobeys Allah in dealing with you, you do nothing but obey Allah in dealing with him.

Place the affairs of your brother when they reach you upon the best of interpretations until there comes to you clarity which overcomes that.

Do not think ill of a statement which comes from another Muslim if you can find a good interpretation for it.

Whoever exposes himself to suspicion let him not blame those who then think badly of him, and whoever conceals his secrets, strength of choice will be in his hands.

Hold fast to truthful companions, live with them closely for they are a charm at times of ease and an aid at times of difficulty.

Stick to the truth even if the truth kills you, and do not involve yourself with issues that don’t concern you.

Do not ask about things which haven’t taken place for indeed, that which has already taken place is enough to preoccupy you from it!

Do not seek help or take your affairs to someone who doesn’t wish to see you succeed, and do not befriend the sinful lest you learn from his sins and evil.

Keep away from your enemy and be cautious of even your friend, except for the truthful and trusted friend. And no-one is trustworthy except him who fears Allah.

Humble yourself at the graves, lower yourself in obedience and stand firm against disobedience. And when it comes to your affairs, seek counsel only from those who truly fear Allah for indeed, Allah says,

إِنَّمَا يَخْشَى اللَّهَ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الْعُلَمَاءُ

“…Indeed, it is only those who have knowledge among His Slaves, that truly fear Allah.” [35:28]

The means that will help a Muslim to wake up for Fajr prayer

Question: What are the means that will help a Muslim to wake up for the morning prayer? Bearing in mind that he goes to bed early, but does not wake up until after the sun has risen.

Answer: It is an obligation upon every Muslim to fear Allah, and to pray the five prescribed prayers at their appointed times in the Masjid along with the Muslim congregation. He must be vigilant in carrying out all of the means that will aid him upon this. And from the ways that will help him stand for the Fajr prayer with the congregation are:

1) He (should) sleep early;

2) Set an alarm clock to the appropriate hour so that he gets up for the prayer on time and attends it in congregation; and

3) He must strive in imploring Allah for success and assistance.

He should also repeat the legislated words of remembrance before he goes to sleep. By doing so, Allah will grant him success – insyaAllah – in rising up for the prayer on time, and performing it with the rest of the Jama’ah.
